Successful Mid-Term Conference in Tallinn / Estonia
28th of June 2005
„To enforce the cross-bordering transfer of knowhow was of high value for the project development on site.” Ago Kokser, Major of the City of Keila.
The INCORD project is now at an important stage. Since 1.5 years the
partners are working on five concrete pilot projects and have already
put forward important steps towards an integrated development concept
for their region. Thus, it was time to reflect the gained knowledge and
experience.
The "Symposium on Integrated Regional Development" aimed at sharing the
gained INCORD experiences with a wider public. In a first part, the
question was addressed which challenges regions in the new member states
are facing.
In a second part, it was discussed which actors are involved in regional development and what role they have.
The last part addressed the main INCORD issue and discusses the
importance and need of new approaches and instruments for regional
development, such as integrated RDCs, especially in the new member
states.
The conference appealed to representatives from local, regional and
national authorities, RDAs, other regional actors, NGOs, researchers
etc.
