Czaplinek
The Czaplinek commune covers 365 sq km inhabited by nearly 13,000 people. The most precious parts of the commune of the uniquely diversified relief and abundant flora and fauna were incorporated into Drawski Scenic Park. Czaplinek, the seat of town and commune authorities, is located in the passage between Drawsko and Czaplino Lakes.
The
town area is crossed by nearly all tourist trails of the region. Signposted
cycling trails start in the marketplace and head for all corners of the
commune.
Especially worth seeing monuments
of architecture include:
- the Old Town complex of
Czaplinek comprising the marketplace and adjoining to it narrow streets. The
marketplace is decorated by a wooden statue of fisherman Paweł Wasznik.
- The Museum Chamber in the
marketplace collecting documents concerning surroundings of Czaplinek.
- The Holy Trinity parish church
from the 14th c. with a unique Baroque canopy altar and a Classicist wooden
pulpit and the Sauer's organ.
- Next to the church there is a
belfry keeping a bell cast in 1730.
- The Elevation of the Holy Cross
church, former Evangelical, built in 1829-1830.
- A promenade on Drawsko Lake
built at the turn of the 20th c.
